Driving is a privilege that I take very seriously.
I recognize how dangerous it is to be distracted behind the wheel:
- 6,000 Americans die in car accidents caused by distracted driving each year.
- Texting or talking on a cell phone while driving is as dangerous as driving drunk.
I pledge to drive without distractions - for my safety and the safety of my passengers and fellow drivers.
I will not text while driving.
If I need to make a call when driving, I will use a hands-free device or pull
over to the side of the road to make my call.
I will not text or call someone that I know who is driving a motor vehicle.
