A tip via email was received
for a fugitive that was wanted for 14 counts of
Theft by Deception. The tip information was sent
to SCPO first and subsequently the Englewood Police
Department in Colorado was contacted with the fugitive
information. The Englewood PD then captured the
man after he barricaded himself in an apartment;
the fugitive then faked a seizure, was taken under
guard to the hospital and escaped, only to be caught
again after being shot with a taser gun.

There have been five Featured
Fugitives of the Week captured since the Crime
Stoppers inception. All the tips were received
into the Crime Stoppers of Somerset
County TIPS line anonymously.
The callers all had information of the whereabouts
of these featured fugitives and were subsequently
arrested.

County affected the capture of one of its
Top Five Fugitives in the county. A tip was received
via the TIPS Hotline and the apprehension was coordinated
with the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office
Fugitive Unit.

TIPS line received an anonymous call reporting
the whereabouts of a defendant who was erroneously
released from the Somerset County Jail in North
Plainfield. After receiving this information, the
Somerset County Central Communications officers
contacted the North Plainfield Police and the Somerset
County Sheriff’s Department. Soon thereafter
the defendant was located in the vicinity of the
Quick Chek on Somerset Street in North Plainfield
where he was arrested and returned to the custody
of the Somerset County Jail from where he had been
mistakenly released.

An anonymous tipster called
in with information about a wanted fugitive who
was wanted by the Somerset County Sherriff’s
Department for Willful non-support payments.
He was later arrested.
