Crime Stoppers Offers Reward in Assault Case

Somerville, NJ - On October 27, 2005, at approximately 4:36 p.m., a 76-year old man was assaulted in front of his home on Newell Street in Hillsborough, by a man in his 20's. This assault occurred after he was tailgated by a female in her 20's driving either a silver or white colored Mitsubishi and followed him to his home. A short time later, the male assailant knocked on the victim's front door and began to yell obscenities at him and wanted to fight him and then suddenly struck the victim in the face. The male assailant then fled on foot southbound on Newell Street and has not yet been located.

As the investigation continues, Douglas W. Kimmelman, President and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Crime Stoppers of Somerset County announced a reward of $250.00 for any information which results in the arrest of the male and female who were involved in the assault of this victim.
