Crime Stoppers Offers reward in Robbery Case

Somerville, NJ - On March 25, 2004, at approximately 7:30 pm in the evening, a 53 year old women exited her vehicle and while walking towards Bed, Bath & Beyond, Watchung Square Mall, Watchung, New Jersey, had her pocketbook stolen. The suspect approached her from behind, grabbed the victim’s pocketbook and knocked her to the ground. The suspect proceeded to utilize her credit cards in various stores in the area. The suspect is described as a white male, approximately 50 to 60 years of age, approximately 6’0 ft tall, 180 lbs., with gray hair and a gray beard. The suspect was last seen wearing a baseball cap, an old pair of light colored sneakers, a jean jacket and blue jeans. The suspect then fled in a dark colored four-door sedan.

As the investigation continues, Douglas W. Kimmelman, President and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Crime Stoppers of Somerset County announced a reward of $100.00 for any information which results in the arrest of the robber(s) of the victim.
