Crime Stoppers Offers Reward in Murder
Case
Somerville, NJ – Somerset County
Prosecutor Wayne J. Forrest and Bridgewater Police
Chief Stephen Obal state that their investigation
into the March 20, 2004 murder of a Bridgewater man
is continuing.
Prosecutor Forrest
stated that, shortly before 6:00 p.m. on Saturday,
March 20, 2004, the Bridgewater Township Police responded
to 1027 Laurel Trail after receiving a “911” call from the residence stating
that James Monsell had been shot in the bedroom of
his home. Since that time, detectives from the Bridgewater
Police and the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office
Major Crimes Squad and Crime Scene Investigation Unit
have spent countless hours in the processing of the
crime scene, analysis of forensic evidence and in their
overall investigation of the case. Detectives are continuing
to follow up on numerous leads and interviews while
awaiting results from forensic testing.
As the investigation continues,
Douglas W. Kimmelman, President and Chairman of the
Board of Directors of Crime Stoppers of Somerset
County announced a reward of $1,000.00 for any information
which results in the arrest and indictment of the
killer(s) of the victim James Monsell. This information
